A question for David: What the hell is a "poly cap (long)" and where do I find one to attach the drivers seat to the hull?

Not quite sure what a Poly Cap is... what exactly is it intended for?

Ah! Looks good, coming along nicely i'd say.
My brother is working on a few tank models, a Tiger, a Churchill, and a Sherman, its tough stuff when you first get started, and he's having problems with a few things (I can't help him much, my expertise is model railroad equipment, not tanks).
Any pointers, hints, tricks of the trade? Please post back.

It is important to be patient and take things slow. It's also a good idea to remember that the plastic molding and instructions may not always be correct, you have to have some sense of how the pieces should fit together and not be too worried to start modifying things.
Starting with a small / easy model is a good idea.

Any excuse to post pictures is good enough for me. wink
Some updated ones:

I am almost finished now. Only small cosmetic parts are left at this point.

do give us a pic when it's fully done.  It looks freaking cool.

I've always loved ERA - I think it gives a tank such character.

Re: Assembly of my M60 A1 begins!

I've been doing some more work on the 'ole gal today. Got the last of the painting done, who am I kidding I'll never stop detail painting. big_smile
Started doing the decals but decided to paint them on by hand instead, with a few tweaks. Figured they would look much better hand painted.

Makeup goes on:

Missed a spot, damn!

I need a cheesily Russian-translated-to-english name for it. New Dawn was all I could think of at the moment.

I also added some wear and tear.

Now if only I could stop knocking pieces off. sad

Re: Assembly of my M60 A1 begins!

And what's New Dawn in Russian?

It's actually a fairly nice (and typically-phrased) name for a tank.  As I understand it, armoured crews get very attached to their vehicles, and all sorts of nicknames show up in combat.

Actually, I have no clue. It sounds nice though.
